2017 Honda HR-V – Worth to wait!
The HR-V has been released not that long ago on the US market and the little crossover quickly caught on to the US customers. It is quite small, very efficient and it has one of the better interiors out there. However, the car is not perfect and even though it is relatively new, it still is missing some core features which are already available on the cheaper Civic. Because of that rumors suggest that the 2017 Honda HR-V is going to get a few upgrades which are going to make it a better buy for most people. It should also receive a new engine, a slightly different exterior and possible a better-made interior.
2017 Honda HR-V Price and Release Date
At just over $20,000 the current car is a steal for what it is. However, in areas like Europe where competition is more fierce, cars similar to it cost as little as $15,000. Because of that, the new 2017 Honda HR-V should receive a much better interior equipment level than before. The price will not necessarily go down but the value for money is certainly going to improve. This should allow Honda to have an edge over the CX-3 which is its current largest competitor. The car should be released by the end of the year and it will likely go on sale in early 2017.
Likely the largest drawback of the 2017 Honda HR-V is its 1.8 liter naturally aspirated engine. While some of its competitors, like the Mazda, do use naturally aspirated engines, these are a lot more efficient. The one on the Honda is not that great in terms of refinement of fuel consumption. In its place, it seems that Honda is going to install a 1.5 liter turbocharged inline 4 unit. This would share a few parts with that of the Civic but it would not be the same. Instead, it will use a lower-pressure turbocharger as well as an improved direct injection system. The end result should be right around 150 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque which is considerably more than the 1.8-liter engine.
On top of that, thanks to its small turbocharger, the engine would basically have no lag so it would be able to give the car a really enjoyable character. A 6-speed manual will likely still be offered as standard while the old CVT should be updated in order to provide a faster and smoother experience than before.

Honda HR-V 2017 Interior
Another area where the 2017 Honda HR-V will have to improve over the current version is inside the cabin. Here the design, as well as the feel provided to its passengers, is certainly above the average. Despite that, the equipment level and the quality of the materials is not really the best. The small update of the car is expected to come with a new infotainment system. This has been the largest requirement of its customers so far. Everyone wants a unit capable of phone mirroring and it seems that the update will bring just that. On top of the new infotainment system, the car is also expected to get slightly better materials as well as a slightly better build quality. These should finally give it what it needs to be better than its competitors.

There is not much to say about the design of the current model and we are pretty sure that this will be the case with the new generation of the car. While it is not the most striking or even the most subtle car out there, it offers a good balance between everything. The 2017 Honda HR-V will likely follow the same recipe with only minor differences such as new rims and possibly new paint options as well.
