The Doblo is a small MPV which is also available as a panel van. The car has been around for some time now with the current model being released all the way back in 2009. This is also one of the first European minivans to be offered on the US market without any major changes. Many rumors suggested that the Doblo would receive an all new version with the 2017 Fiat Doblo but this has been proven not to be true. For starters, it seems that the MPV will receive new engines in order to become compliant with the Euro 6 emissions standards and that should be it.
Fiat Doblo 2017 Release Date and Price
So far it has been confirmed that the Australian market will receive new engines in order to comply with the emissions standards there. On top of that, a Turkish website reported back at the start of the year that the 2017 model will receive smaller engines that will be more efficient and more powerful. So far this did not happen but it just might considering that the 2017 model will be released by the end of the year. The car will continue to be offered across the World at roughly the same prices as before. This means that the base price will remain around the equivalent of $20,000, in Australia and Europe, with some models going for more than $30,000.
Under the hood
There is currently a selection of petrol and diesel engines and the 2017 Fiat Doblo should be pretty similar to the ongoing model. While the engines will be upgraded in order to meet the latest requirements, this doesn’t really mean that the car will offer more power or better fuel efficiency. The base engine, at least in Europe, is still expected to be a small 1.4 liter naturally aspirated inline 4 offering 94 horsepower and 94 lb-ft of torque. Its turbocharged version, which runs on LPG, is also a real possibility here. Unlike before though, it seems that the new model will only feature two diesel engines instead of three.
The base 1.3 liters turbocharged diesel will be retained but it is expected to go through some changes. Some rumors suggest at over 90 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. Also, the 1.6-liter diesel is now expected to come in quite a few more outputs in order to satisfy a larger portion of the market. This is expected to offer between 104 and over 125 horsepower. The US version will very likely retain its 2.4-liter petrol engine and 9 speed automatic. Unfortunately, the European version will only be available with a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic which is quite old at this point.
2017 Fiat Doblo Design
Like we mentioned above, the 2017 Fiat Doblo is not expected to change much, if at all. This is because the car did receive a facelift quite recently and it won’t be changed dramatically until a new model will be released. The front end should stay roughly the same as before but we may see a few new rims options and likely a few new colors as well. However, besides these small upgrades, it will remain largely unchanged.
Fiat Doblo Interior
The same thing should also happen to the interior. The Doblo is one of the better-equipped cars in its class and the 2017 model will likely stay the same. Expect slightly better materials as well as a few new features such as a better infotainment system and even new safety options. However, the actual design of the dashboard and even the layout of the controls will remain unchanged from the latest update of the car.
