Thanks to a new, bold grille, the vehicle looks much better. As always, a large Toyota logo found its spot in the middle of the grille. Cheshire Cat lower air intake also looks pretty cool on the new Taco. There will also be larger fenders for widened stance. Moving to the back, fenders have the same widened look. The tailgate has also undergone some changes. This time, it comes with a sharp-looking “TACOMA” stamp on the lower edge along with some good-looking, hard accent lines. To complete the package and make the new Tacoma even more appealing, Toyota decided to offer a set of newly designed wheels with black accents.

Toyota Tacoma Interior

Interior

The newly designed interior of the 2016 Toyota Tacoma will be driver-focused. It now has so-called “handlebar” design theme. High-end soft-touch materials are used to cover the surfaces of the dash and the center console. Thanks to this, things inside of the cabin look more upscale, but at the same time, the vehicle keeps its sport-truck theme.
The cabin of the new Tacoma hasn’t only been improved in terms of materials and design. There are a great number of improvements in terms of features, safety and infotainment ones. As for the updates, there will be Qi Wi-Fi charging station for Qi-equipped devices, leather wrapped seats, smart key activated ignition, smart-key activated doors, dual-zone climate control, Entune touchscreen, and a power moonroof. As for the driving assists, we single out Blind spot monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Also, the new Tacoma comes with simple and yet very useful feature, a built-in GoPro. Also new is an acoustic laminated windshield which reduces noise inside of the cabin along with a thick silencer pad and a sound-absorbing headliner.

Most of have been waiting for Toyota to replace the 4.0-liter V-6 engine by a new unit, and it finally happened. A new engine will be a 3.5-liter V-6 which runs an Atkinson combustion cycle. It has both, port and direct fuel injection for greatest power and output. Even though the carmaker hasn’t revealed details about output and torque, they promised that the engine would have a lot more to offer than the current powerplant. The second engine option will be the well-known 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. Both of them come mated with a six-speed automatic transmission as standard, but a 6-speed manual unit is also available.
